— J. Design services & processes
My workflow is not standard, and neither am I, nor the companies that help. I focus on supporting brand expression, consistently and powerfully, across multiple digital channels.
From user research to user interface, wire-framing to prototyping. I do it all. I strive to explore new concepts across a diverse range of creative disciplines and digital applications.

The brands I create differentiate, communicate & personify. They express core values, brand stories, key messaging, evoke feelings and are fully integrated for a digital world.

Size does not matter and supporting start-ups has always been vital part of my work. With an open heart and an open mind to exploring new ways to imagine our world, I love partnering with innovative thinkers to bring to life their ideas and concepts.

A specific subset of hand letter unique, like no other. Drawn only by my ten fingers and arranged with great consideration, I create a system of letters, ready for digital usage.

The design process
J.
To really emmerse myself in the project I spend a great deal of time trying to unpack, discover. I try to understand competitive reviews, user personas, analytical data and get as much information I can get.
I like to take on a user-centric approach in order to view insight into the customers. Staying up to date with current design trends whilst respecting design traditions and simply gathering specific requirements for a project is critical before moving forward.

Defining the problem(s) quickly means kickin' it old school.
Before starting on Figma I like to draw out all of my ideas, whether it's on a napkin, post-it-note or paper. I then prototype and wireframe design to help me map out the user journeys, workflows, quickly receive feedback and make changes.

After consulting with the stakeholders, recommendations are given as a result of user testing. A single great idea is taken to move forward to the design lab.
Complex problems now have a clearly defined solution and this means everyone is on the same page with the way the solution will be executed.

At this point, attention to detail is paramount and it could mean endless hours of shifting of moving pixels around. The constant iteration and refinement is a must and honestly there is no other substitute but to spend that extra time to make sure everything is where it should be.
Additional micro -interactions help delight the user. A clean, minimalistic approach is taken to ensure designs remain relevant and timeless.

Final stages, with all the design specs, user testing recordings, finding packages up and delivered with a virtual box and ribbon.
All of the files and elements in a cohesive and organised way ready for the handover. Shipping my final design product out is the final and more satisfying part of the process. As a creative, I believe that creating and collaborating on design work with another person or group of people is truly empowering and the most rewarding thing.
